RSS To HTML - How To Convert RSS Feeds Into Published Web Pages - A Mini-Guide

Easy-to-use RSS to HTML tools

The services listed below make it easy for anyone to convert their RSS feed - or someone else's - into a few lines of embeddable code. This makes it very simple for anyone with no experience of complicated programming languages and coding to publish their feeds effectively.

It really is as simple as making use of the service of your choice, entering the URL of your RSS feed, customizing how it will look on your website, and then grabbing the few lines of code given to you at the end. All you have to do then is embed the code into your web page, blog template or blog post - much as you would a YouTube video. As if by magic, you have a constant stream of fresh news.

The most common way that the creators of these services get RSS feeds onto your site is through Javascript. While this makes it easy for the non-technical among us to get up and running, the downside is that the news content you bring in via the RSS feed cannot be read by the search engine bots that scan your website content.

This is because JavaScript, when placed in the HTML code of your website, does not actually contain any news content, but rather a few lines of code that call that information from the original news source. As such, when the search engine looks for content in your JavaScript-published RSS news feed, it doesn't find anything to report.

Consequently, those keenly interested in search engine optimization might want to consider alternatives to JavaScript-based RSS to HTML solutions, such as services that make use of PHP.

Here again we have a video of one of the tutorials in the June-July 09 newsletter! Using Photoshop we will create a very editable Lomography effect also known as the “Lomo Effect”. Using Blend Modes and Adjustments Layers we achieve a pretty cool effect that can be used on all kinds of Photography! After creating the effect we will take a quick minute and create a simple action so we can test this effect out on a photo by simply clicking a button!

Really cool effect, check it out guys!

Videos: Basic iTunes Style Illustration!

Welcome to this tutorial! We are going to take a look at how to create this cool, fully customizable and editable grungy, dirty, distressed background. We will use a combo of texture, brushing, and blend modes to create a very cool background inspired by a modest iTunes Gift Card!

Videos: Create a Simple Poster in Photoshop!

This is one of the tutorials found in the May-June 2009 Tutvid.com newsletter. We create a very simple movie post similar to the "The Boat That Rocked" movie poster. Enjoy!

Videos: Removing Glasses with Photoshop!

In this video we will take a look at a very special way to remove an element from an image. In case we will be removing a pair of glasses from this young woman's face and it the process rebuilding parts of her eyes as well as doing some heavy retouch work to the face in general.

videos: Add or Remove Tattoos with Photoshop!

For many photography projects removing tattoos is a must have skin, and for some fun projects knowing how to add a tattoo and knowing how to make it follow the flow of the persons skill is pretty cool. We will talk about using the healing brush in tough spots, how displacement maps allow us to make realistic changes to photographs, as well as using multiple blend modes to make a realistic tattoo on this brides back. Enjoy!

videos:Changing Eye Color in Photoshop!

In this one we cut straight to the chase. Changing eye color is really easy to do and in this video I demonstrate my preferred method. We will talk about blend modes, hue and saturation and keeping this eye edit easy to come back to later and edit as we wish. This method is quick, easy, editable down the road, and yields great results!

videos: Streaking Athlete Effect!!

Starting with a simple stock photograph we will transform this image into a very cool composition combining 3D motion type streaking colors to imply motion and some cool brushing here in Photoshop to create this very cool image effect. Learn about lots of cool features in Photoshop CS4 in this tutorial!

Videos: Composite/Combine Multiple Images!

In this video we will use simple techniques to combine a couple images. We are actually using a couple image which are pretty difficult to combine and my hope is that you will take a few tricks from this video that will help you with combining images of all types-including those that have transparency in them-form this video. We cover selecting with channels, copying and pasting, masking, burning, and a few other cool little things. Check it out and get started building your own "composite images"!

Videos: Basics of Creating 3D Objects!

3D is very new to Photoshop only really coming into existence when CS3 was released. In CS3 however the 3D capabilities were pretty limited, but with the release of CS4 3D exploded into Photoshop and now has it's own set of tools and even it's own panel. You are now able to even create true 3D objects right from within Photoshop and texture them. In the following tutorial we will learn about creating a base 3D object and creating a few basic textures for that object. We will also take a moment to explore the 3D tools.

videos:Creating 3D Spiraling Light Streaks or Zips!

In this tutorial I start with a simple 3D object created in Photoshop and to really show off the 3D nature of this object we will "wrap" it with light, specifically these light zips, or bands. A pretty cool effect and really as soon as you create the path(s) you can tweak and create whatever kind of effect you want.

Videos: Super Quick Black and White Images!

When working with large numbers of photos occasionally I will try batch processing a black and white conversion over a folder of images, but my problem always was the simple desaturate command in Photoshop never really did the trick, the photo(s) always looked way to flat. Using this technique we will boost contrast using blend modes prior to our final black and white conversion and the beauty of this method is it is the same for every photo so making an action takes seconds.

Videos: Smoothing and Softening Skin for Portrait Retouching!

Soften and Smooth Skin! This is a huge thing when working with studio photography, models, or anyone really. Smoothing skin can really add a lot to an image, but if you do it the wrong way it really can look terrible. We will also look at selective sharpening by using a mask to limit the sharpened region. We will cover: Masking, Blending, Sharpening, and Cleaning up Skin Blemishes in this video!
